The Cape Town Society for the Blind
Situated at the foot of Table Mountain, Cape Town Society for the Blind is a non-profit community-based service organisation in Salt River, Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA.
It aims to provide blind and visually impaired adults, in the Greater Cape Town and Boland areas, with opportunities to become independent and financially self-sufficient citizens.
Cape Town Civilian Blind Society was founded in April 1929, as an organisation to protect the interests and well-being of the blind, within the Cape Peninsula.
Since then the Society has developed to what it is today. The now, Cape Town Society for the Blind is a community service organisation, which aims to provide visually impaired persons with opportunities to become independent and financially self-sufficient citizens.
The Society believes that VIPs can, and should, be empowered to achieve their maximum potential and to this aim the Society provides enabling services to VIPs by the optimal use of all available resources.
